Reentrant Bloch ferromagnetism

چکیده
An interacting electron liquid in two (2D) and three (3D) dimensions may undergo a paramagnetic-to-ferromagnetic quantum spin polarization transition at zero applied magnetic field, driven entirely by exchange interactions, as the system density ($n$) is decreased. This known Bloch ferromagnetism. We show theoretically that application of an external field ($B$), which directly polarizes through Zeeman splitting, has interesting effect on ferromagnetism if carrier are both decreased (from some initial high density) power-law manner, $B\sim n^p$. For $pp_c$, transitions state: first, weak second order field-induced polarized phase phase; then, lower density, reentrant first back again surface.

Triviality of Bloch and Bloch-Dirac bundles
In the framework of the theory of an electron in a periodic potential, we reconsider the longstanding problem of the existence of smooth and periodic quasi-Bloch functions, which is shown to be equivalent to the triviality of the Bloch bundle. By exploiting the time-reversal symmetry of the Hamiltonian and some bundle-theoretic methods, we show that the problem has a positive answer in any dime...

We investigate a system described by two real scalar fields coupled with gravity in (4, 1) dimensions in warped spacetime involving one extra dimension. The results show that the parameter which controls the way the two scalar fields interact induces the appearence of thick brane which engenders internal structure, driving the energy density to localize inside the brane in a very specific way.

I present a stochastic population model that combines cooperative interactions of the type often used in physics with the process of reproduction and death familiar to biology, and I refer to reasons why such interlocking may be of interest to both fields. Physics and biology have developed good frameworks to model the process of stochastic change in systems which experience the action of coope...

The effect of the autonomic system on conduction disorders in the infarction zone (IZ) and related reentrant ventricular arrhythmias (RVA) in the late myocardial infarction period in the dog was studied utilizing averaged recordings of the reentrant pathways from the epicardial surface of the IZ. Vagal (V) stimulation was found to have no significant direct electrophysiologic effect while sympa...
